Welcome to the Festival of Ice, the Annual of the Juniata River Valley’s kick-off to the holiday season!  For over a decade, our area has embraced the holiday season by transforming the downtown Lewistown streets into a winter wonderland of seasonal delights.  The Festival of Ice is held the first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday after Thanksgiving each year.

The Festival of Ice is orchestrated by the Juniata River Valley Visitors Bureau, a non-profit organization that depends upon the support of people like you.  Started in December 1997, by John Pannizzo, the festival has grown into a remarkable, memory-making event that you will want to share with friends and family.

View all the beautiful ice sculpture displays, take an old-fashioned carriage ride, listen to some holiday entertainment, have the kids make crafts & collectibles, and don’t forget that special visit with Santa Clause to complete your Festival of Ice experience.

Be sure to check out all the craft vendors to commemorate your visit to the Festival of Ice with some special gifts that will be sure to bring cheer all year round.  Don’t miss any of the food vendors for some special holiday treats.  Enjoy all of the sights, tastes, touches, and sounds of the Festival of Ice and start your Holiday Season off in the merriest way!

We would like to thank all the sponsors and volunteers that help make this event possible.   If not for their commitment to the community, the Festival of Ice would not be what it is today.  We hope to celebrate our community with you at the Festival of Ice.  Our wish is that through visiting the Festival of Ice you will find something here that not only brightens your spirits, but touches your heart.
